Your cold emails don't fail because of copy. They fail because of targeting.

The reason your cold emails fail isn't the copy. It's that you're emailing the wrong person about the wrong problem.

Most AI builders send the same generic email to everyone: "Hi, I build AI automations for businesses. Would you be open to a call?" It gets ignored because it signals zero research and zero understanding of the buyer's world.

The emails that get replies share three traits: they name a specific problem the recipient actually has, they hint at a result without over-explaining, and they make responding easier than ignoring. None of that works if you're emailing a marketing manager about an operations problem.

Fix your targeting first. Find the person who owns the problem and the budget. Then write an email that proves you understand their day. And if you really want to stand out — skip the email entirely and send a 90-second video instead.

The Framework

The 4-line cold email + the AI video pitch

Line 1: Observation

State something specific you noticed about their business. "I saw your team posted 3 ops roles in the last month." This proves you did homework.

Line 2: Problem implication

Connect the observation to a cost. "That usually means the team is buried in manual work that's scaling faster than headcount." One sentence. No jargon.

Line 3: Proof hint

"I helped a similar company cut that workload by 60% in 3 weeks with an AI agent handling [specific task]." Real result, real specificity, no attachment or deck.

Line 4: Low-friction ask

"Worth a 15-minute call to see if it fits?" Not "when are you free this week." Just a yes/no question that costs them nothing.

The upgrade: AI video pitch

For high-priority prospects, replace the text email with a 60–90 second Loom video. Part 1 (0–15s): name their exact problem. Part 2 (15–75s): screen share your agent solving it live — show it working on data that looks like theirs, or clip a real client reaction. Part 3 (75–90s): "Reply and I'll show you the full thing with your actual data." Video outreach gets 3–5x the reply rate of text because the prospect sees the outcome before they talk to you.
